Technological Characteristics and Main Applications of Bamboo Plywood

Bamboo plywood is a kind of building material with bamboo as the main structure and filling material, which is made of high pressure blank. It is made of the bamboo with equal thickness and consists of grooves. Rolling and planing are the technological characteristics of thi product, and the technologies are used to prepare thick bamboo slices with grooves.


1. Technological characteristics and main applications of bamboo plywood

In order to prevent the crimping deformation of flat bamboo under the action of transverse elastic restoring force during the drying process, the technology and equipment of pressure drying are adopted to remove water and realize free shrinkage. The filler can make the bamboo film form on the surface easily after gelatinization, then gummosis will not easily occur during hot pressing. After curing, the brittleness of the gelatinizing layer can be improved.


Strictly follow the symmetry principle, odd-number layer principle and adjacent layer texture principle. The surface plate is required to be made of high-quality bamboo, while the back panel is made of relatively poor-quality bamboo. The green surface of the surface plate and the back plate should be outward and the yellow surface should be inward; when assembling the core plate, the orientation of adjacent bamboo pieces should be arranged alternately according to the green surface and the yellow surface. Bamboo plywood can be applied in any place where plates are needed.


Benefiting from the high hardness, bending resistance and compressive resistance of bamboo plywood, it has replaced steel moulding plates in many fields. Bamboos are easy to cultivate, so the Ministry of Forestry, PRC supports the development of artificial boards using bamboo as the main processing material, and wood-based panels have been replaced in many places.
